Everything in the Olympics is about competition, including TV ratings.
NBC had 27 million viewers in the advertiser friendly 18-49 demographic for their coverage of the closing ceremony.
That's a 32% increase from the Beijing closing ceremony!
That's crazy! Way to go, London!
The next closest network was CBS who only drew 4.7 million viewers in that demographic during the same slot.
NBC's Olympic coverage was just raking in the viewers and ad money!
Even though they kinda screwed up everything with the whole time-delay broadcasting and online spoilers, people still tuned in. Money talks!
