Then you betrayed us by giving us Alzheimer's!

That's right, there's a compound in the buttery flavoring in microwave popcorn called Diacetyl that has been linked to Alzheimer's!

Those most affected are those who work in the popcorn industry, like in the factories where popcorn is mass produced.

There have been documented lung related issues, but the Alzheimer's link is the newest and scariest.

The researchers said:

"In light of the chronic exposure of industry workers to diacetyl, this study raises the troubling possibility of long-term neurological toxicity mediated by diacetyl."
