Roger Clemens was just recently acquitted of all charges in relation to a baseball steroid scandal.
He was in trouble for possibly lying to Congress and a whole bunch of other serious charges.
But he got off scot free!
And now he's signed with a professional baseball team! At age 50!!
He signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters in Texas. They're a team in the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
So it's more of a publicity stunt we assume.
One of his agent's said:
"It is at this point a fun, local, one time kind of thing. If he does well, he will probably make at least one more home start. He threw 87 mph today with four pitches working, so he looks good to go at this point. The hitters will let us know on Saturday night."
87 mph is really fast but not major league fast. Add 10 mph and that's up there with the best of 'em!
Either way, he must just be so glad to be out of court, completely free and playing ball again!
Good luck, Roger!
