US Open Ump Charged With Murder!

That's tennis right?? Ha!
How crazy is this: Lois Goodman, an umpire for the US Open, has been charged with MURDER!
Not only is she an ump… but she's totally 70 years old.
Even weirder is that she's been arrested in NY for allegedly beating her 80-year-old husband to death with a coffee mug.
Lois has been a line judge at the tournament for many years and was about to begin working at the qualifying matches. In April, though her husband died suspiciously, even though Lois told officers it appeared to have been an accident, and that she had been out all day refereeing a tennis match.
Here's what she claimed:
"She said she surmised he had fallen down the steps, had a heart attack and managed to get back upstairs to the bed. It was a suspicious death from the beginning."
None of that sounds at all like what it would look like if you've been beaten to death with a mug.
No motive has been put forward publicly.
Lois waived an extradition hearing so she could be returned quickly to Los Angeles to face the charges, and if convicted, Goodman could be sentenced to life in prison.
We wonder what could drive someone to do this.
