How To Eat Environmentally Friendly!

Eating is something we all do every day. It's kinda hard to get around that fact. LOLz!

So wanna know how to lessen your impact on the environment and on your own body by being more aware of the food choices you make?

Then check out this list of tips:

At the store:

- Bring a reusable bag
- Buy products with minimal packaging
- Skip bottles, drink tap from a reusable bottle
- Go to store that limit waste, are more green, organic, etc.

When choosing produce:

- Eat more produce in general
- Eat local
- Buy organic
- Eat raw to save energy
- Learn to preserve local produce (to eat year round)
- Grow it yourself
- Join a CSA (community supported agriculture)

When choosing meat:

- Eat less if possible
- Buy local
- Eat organic
- Skip antibiotic fed meat
- Eat pasture raised not industrially raised

When choosing seafood:

- Look for Marine Stewardship Council label for sustainably caught food
- Eat least endangered fish
- Buy U.S. caught and farmed fish (buy "local")
- Try varieties of fish

When choosing dairy:

- Buy hormone free
- Go local
- Eat organic
- Eat less

At a restaurant:

- Order beverages on tap
- Eat local
- Feel free to ask if food is locally sourced

When at home:

- Don't use disposable utensils
- Try composting
- Reuse leftovers in new meals
- Double recipes (leftovers cost less energy)
- Cook one local meal a week

So if you're going to take away anything from that long list… go local! Go Organic!
