Science is RAD!
Get this — Starbucks in Hong Kong is testing out this awesome new recycling method that would turn stale baked goods and coffee grinds into bio-plastics and laundry detergent!
For a company so large, this could take a huge dent out of their environmental footprint!
Recycling food waste isn't as controversial as, say, growing corn for the sole purpose of making fuel. This has the potential of diverting tons of garbage from landfills and reducing the need to manufacture goods from virgin, raw sources!
With Starbucks Hong Kong producing around 5k tons of used coffee grounds and stale baked goods, you can tell how much of an impact this will have… seeing as that's just Hong Kong.
Think of all the other countries!
This is so fab! We hope it works for them!
