Rest easy, readers!
While our suggestion was to just not eat mangoes for a while (which seems pretty simple, nobody can't live without mangoes) because of the salmonella, it looks like you guys won't have to — the company/culprit has been found and is issuing a recall!
Fruit distributor Splendid Products!
They're recalling several lots of Daniella brand mangoes that has sickened more than 100 people in 16 states.
The company said the recalled mangoes come from Mexico and carry the Daniella brand sticker. The affected lot numbers are: 3114, 4051, 4311, 4584 or 4959.
They were sold between July 12 and August 29.
Though, Splendid maintains that they voluntarily recalled the product "out of an abundance of caution," after consulting government authorities.
Which means officials haven't said it was ONLY them.
Okay, go back to not eating mangoes for a while.
