Now THIS is how you shut up the nay-sayers!
A lot of people thought Denver was crazy for giving Peyton Manning a 5 year deal — worth $96 million — because nobody knew if he would ever be his former self when he returned (his last game was in 2010).
He led Denver to a fourth-quarter win, completing 19 of 26 passes for 253 yards! Then he threw two touchdowns passes, and he became the third quarterback in NFL history to pass for 400 touchdowns.
Oh, plus he had four neck surgeries. The Colts made the wrong choice.
Here's what he said:
“I’m still feeling my way out; I still have some limitations. I think this team is still forming its identity … when you get a win in that process, that’s a nice thing.”
We bet it is!
Of course, a quarterback is only as good as his team — so we want to congratulate the rest of the Broncos on their win, too!
Glad to have you back, Peyton!
