If this isn't discrimination, we don't know what is!
Linebacker Jamie Kuntz, 18, was seen kissing his boyfriend. When asked about it by teammates and his coach, he denied it.
Jamie was afraid at the beginning to say anything because of a reason that's less about him being gay, and more about his boyfriend being 65 years old!
EITHER WAY, the coach claims it was because he lied at first and was causing unnecessary distractions.
We call BS, and can totally see it was discrimination — because lying or not, a kiss is not the team's business. At all. He did nothing wrong, and it was private… and they had no right to even ask about it!
Here's what Jamie said:
"People around here aren't exposed to it. People expect gays to be flamboyant, not football players."
And here's what the team said:
"This decision was arrived at solely on the basis of your conduct during the football game; and because you chose not to be truthful with me when I confronted you about whom else was in the box with you. Any conduct by any member of the program that would cause such a distraction during a game would warrant the same consequences."
Lying about taking steroids or something, maybe, but come ON!
Jamie spoke of the nonsense like this:
"I know if it was a girl in the press box, or even an older woman, nothing would have happened. If it was an older woman, I would have probably been congratulated for it from my teammates."
This is just awful, and we hope that Jamie sees some sort of justice for it.
Intolerance and bigotry should never get their way!
