New Study Throws Omega-3's Under The Bus!

Omega 3 Supplements No Help

Well, Omega-3 supplements, that is!

It's true, a new study is showing that those fish oil pills you've been taking haven't been doing anything at all — it shows that the supplements don’t lower users’ risks of heart attack, stroke, sudden death or death from heart disease or any cause.

Part of the study had scientists reviewing 20 studies dating back to 1989 that involved 68,680 participants. So it wasn't small by any means.

So what's up with the conclusion now vs. what it was in the past? Inconsistencies between the included trials, such as the dosages of supplement used or preexisting conditions among participants, may have contributed.

All of this DOESN'T mean that the omega-3's you get from fatty fish won't help — in fact, that stuff is still fab for you! We're strictly talking supplementation here, and even the AHA doesn't recommend the pills to protect the heart.

In the end, continue to eat more fish instead of going the easy route with pills. Plus it'll taste better!

LOLz!
