When Brendon Ayanbadejo of the Baltimore Ravens spoke up and said he supported gay marriage, there was a suprising amount of backlash.
He was attacked by a nasty politician, Maryland House of Delegates member Emmett C. Burns Jr., who sent a letter asking the Ravens' owner to stop his players from endorsing same-sex marriage.
"Why do you hate the fact that other people want a chance to live their lives and be happy, even though they may believe in something different than you or act different than you?"
He continues on, in a well worded letter to talk about a politician basically attacking freedom of speech.
The open letter eventually gets pretty funny while still making some very good points, saying:
"If gay marriage becomes legal, are you worried that all of a sudden you'll start thinking about penis? 'Oh shit. Gay marriage just passed. Gotta get me some of that hot dong action!'"
Ha! That's what it seems like those people must be thinking because their view makes no sense otherwise!
Way to speak up for gay rights!
Lets make sports a safe place for everyone!
