Matthew Fox was a pretty in-shape guy to begin with, but he lost an astonishing 40 pounds for his role in his new movie, Alex Cross!
So how did he get so crazy ripped?
He stopped eating everything that he loved and began working out really hard all the time.
What was tough was he was a big food guy. He said:
"My mother hated it. She's Italian and she's a fantastic cook and loves to feed her son more than anything. She couldn't stand it. It really upset her."
So aside from eating crazy healthy, what were his workouts like?
He worked with Simon Waterson, a trainer who's worked with Daniel Craig, Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Evans in the past.
"We worked really hard on this for five months. The training sessions were mostly circuit training. You're going non-stop from exercise to exercise, never taking any breaks for about an hour and a half. I was burning a lot of calories and working on certain muscle groups. It was very strategic on his part and very gradual."
Sounds really intense. And just look at those results!
So, has he kept it all off?
"I'm taking my time to put it back on but eating all the things I love to eat. I have a terrible sweet tooth. All those pies, ice cream and cookies were completely out the window when I was training. Pasta and bread were pretty much non-existent in the diet as well."
He's gained back about 15 pounds so far. And 15 out of 40 ain't bad at all!
