Okay, things are getting serious.
We can't believe it, but the NHL is in a lockout and could possibly be heading for another year without professional hockey, like in 2004.
The NHL just recently announced the cancellation of all preseason games through September 30th.
Also, league employees will be reduced to a four-day work week starting the 1st of October, meaning they'll only get 80% of their regular pay.
Several high profile games, including a big game in Las Vegas between the LA Kings and the Colorado Avalanche, have been cancelled.
Some teams have already been laying off employees, like their mascots!
At least NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and his deputy commissioner, Bill Daly, aren't taking their salaries during the lockout.
If this continues through October, players might miss their first paycheck.
Then we'd expect all sorts of hell to be raised.
C'mon, you guys! Work it out! Do it for the fans!
