Sorry for yelling, but this is just about the worst news we could get today — apparently a shortage of bacon is looming on the horizon… and we can't do anything to stop it!
Britain's National Pig Association (NPA) (yes it's real) says that pig herds in Europe are shrinking, which is now a trend around the world.
To blame? Droughts in the U.S. and Russia, as that messes with our grain crops and their prices — which means that the number of slaughtered pigs could drop by as much as 10 percent in the second half of next year.
A 10% drop essentially means a doubling in pork product price!
It can't be a coincidence that this is happening in 2012, right around when the world is supposed to end.
