This isn't a good sign — the NHL has canceled the rest of the preseason, leaving everyone to fear another year without an NHL season at all like in 2004/05!
The hope here now is that they talks are expected to last the entire weekend, and the more time spent at the table the better.
Here's what the NHL Deputy Commissioner had to say:
"Obviously, we've got to talk before you can get a deal, so I think it's important to get the talks going again. But you also have to have something to say. I think it's fair to say we feel like we need to hear from the players' association in a meaningful way because I don't think that they've really moved off their initial proposal, which was made more than a month ago now."
Season games would be the next things to go, and nobody seems to want that. We feel like everybody would lose way more money that way than to just compromise!
Just get it done, guys!
