Okay, so we may have slightly overreacted when we said the world would run really low on bacon soon.
There really won't be a huge shortage with people lined up outside supermarkets just for a chance to get some bacon or anything like that.
A farm bureau economist said:
"Pork supplies will decrease slightly as we go into 2013. But the idea that there'll be widespread shortages, that we'll run out of pork, that's really overblown."
Because of the drought and the average pig herd shrinking, bacon prices could go up as much as ten percent.
At least it's a good excuse to buy less bacon! Your waistline will thank you.
So no need to continue stockpiling bacon or even buying *shudder* canned bacon!
