We looove Christina Aguilera!
She's gotten to a point in her life where she won't take nothin' from no one!
She said that things were pretty bad back in 2002 during the promotion of her album Stripped. She said:
"I got tired of being a skinny, white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl."
Later, after a tour for the album, she had gained about 15 pounds. The record execs freaked out and called a meeting. She continued:
"They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight. Basically, they told me I would effect a lot of people if I gained weight — the production, musical directors."
Finally, around the time she was in the studio working on her upcoming album, Lotus, she said she had had enough, saying:
"I told them… 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.' They need a reminder sometimes that I don't belong to them. It's my body. My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore—my body is just not on the table that way anymore."
Way to stand up to the people who always told you you weren't skinny enough!
We're so glad you stuck up for yourself because you look absolutely gorgeous!
Don't go changing for anyone but yourself!
UPDATE: So apparently this is all totally false. Christina's rep said:
"[They] are fake."
So apparently Xtina never said any of that. Sorry about that.
