Beano Cook, if you haven't heard of him, was a longtime contributor to the Pittsburgh sports scene and an ESPN college football studio commentator since 1986. He actually had the nickname the "Cardinal of College Football" because of how knowledgeable and good he was at his job.
He has passed away at 81 years old.
"He was one of a kind. There never was and never will be another Beano. His combination of humor, passion, love of college football and his engaging personality left an indelible mark on the sport and touched anyone who knew him."
He was never married and lived in Pittsburgh for 74 years until he passed — and he will be greatly missed by many.
A true legend.
