Jerry Sandusky is going to jail for a very long time, pretty much until he dies.
And it's all because Victim Number One had the courage to speak up.
Now, his courage has prepared him to reveal his name and given him the ability to openly speak out.
His name is Aaron Fisher, 18, and he's written a book called Silent No More: Victim 1's Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky.
He co-authored it with his mother and his psychologist. It will be published on October 23rd.
"Saying sexual abuse has happened was hard. But I wanted to help people see that it is better to come forward and tell somebody than to be silent."
He was abused by the monster Sandusky when he was 12 to 15 and it took him a whole three years to be able to tell his mother and high school officials.
Fisher, who plans on studying criminal justice in college next year, had some advice to other victims of abuse, saying:
"Make sure you don't give up on doing the right thing, because for every time you stay quiet, there's the person who did something to you, doing it to somebody else. Instead of being a victim, you can be a hero."
We'll say it again, he's one courageous young man.
What strength for someone so young.
We're so glad that he's able to move forward with his life while Sandusky serves time.
Justice has been served.
