Christina Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 because of a mutation in a gene passed down from her mother, also a breast cancer survivor.
To make sure she'd be disease free, she had a double mastectomy.
While she's come to terms with being a cancer survivor she still knows things are different, saying:
"I miss my exquisite breasts sometimes."
That's a reference to a line in her movie Anchorman! Ha!
But she did actually have a pretty tough time, dealing with something so personal so publicly.
"The good thing is that we got the information out, but talking about the facts of the disease, I didn’t have to see what was going on with me. I think when it slowed down, all that came crashing down."
She said her family, friends, future husband Martyn LeNoble and a spiritual advisor helped her overcome a "total emotional collapse."
We're so glad that she's healthy both in mind and body!
What a strong lady!
