Listen up, everyone who goes out of their way to buy only organic foods, even for their kids:
The American Academy of Pediatricians has just announced that they've found that organic food is no better for kids than regular food!
In other words, parents who want to reduce their child's pesticide exposure don't have to seek out organic fruits and vegetables — they aren't any safer or healthier than conventional equivalents.
This isn't really the fault of the organic foods, though. It's because all the conventional foods just don't have as much nasty stuff as we think. The amount measured in conventionally grown produce was within safety limits!
This is good news for parents worried about the cost of organic food! They can hopefully add even more fruits and vegetables to their kids' diets!
One researcher points this out exactly:
"This type of diet has proven health benefits. Many families have a limited food budget, and we do not want families to choose to consume smaller amounts of more expensive organic foods and thus reduce their overall intake of healthy foods like produce."
There you have it, guys!
