Come on, NHL, quit being a baby.
Seriously, if the union wants to return to negotiations, we feel like it's your duty to your fans (the people who pay your exorbitant salaries) to try your hardest. Especially when the whole damn season is at stake!
The union wants to talk about everything, but the NHL says if the players don't want to discuss the NHL's offer from last week, they don't want to put the work into presenting something new and there isn't really anything to talk about.
That's so childish that it makes our heads explode!
Here's what cool guy/deputy commissioner Bill Daly said:
"I don't anticipate any (talks) taking place for the balance of the week. The union has rejected the proposal we made last Tuesday and is not offering another one. We see nothing to be gained at this point by meeting just to meet."
That's the spirit!
If that's how they're going to play it, it looks like the Thursday deadline will come and go, destroying the full 82 game season.
Grow up, everyone. It's a game, and the money you make from having it as your job comes right from the fans. Seems like a sweet deal no matter what. The fans can't pay for any of your proposals if there's nothing to watch!
