NHL Lockout: Day 41 - Crew morale is low. Supplies are dwindling. Nothing is on the horizon but darkness.
Okay, it's not that bleak, but still, things aren't looking good.
The NHL is pulling their latest proposal.
The NHL's deputy commissioner just said via email:
"The proposal was made on the basis of being able to play a full 82-game season. That opportunity is now no longer available to us."
So now the 50-50 split offer is totally off the table.
More games are expected to be canceled on Friday.
The Player's Association said:
"I don't think this is something that moves the process forward. I think it's something that hinders it. There have been a number of artificial deadlines set throughout these negotiations, and we're going to continue to work through this to try to break the logjam."
Looks like the idea of being able to squeeze in a full 82-game season was just a pipe dream.
We're gonna stop getting our hopes up and just prepare for the worst.
The last face-to-face talks were October 18th.
Not sure when they're gonna meet again… if ever.
