We were a little worried there, but it doesn't look like we have to be anymore. The Starbucks CEO will support President Obama for another term. Finally, a good night's rest for the nation.
Howard Schultz, King of Koffee, said that our Prez has shown "significant leadership" and the "kind of stewardship of the economy in the country and in world affairs" that deserves a second term.
Schultz, interestingly, urged other business leaders to stop contributing campaign funds until Congress and the White House reached a bipartisan deal to reduce the deficit. It's a shocking move for someone so corporate, and we like it. He said he was frustrated by the bitter partisan strife that was on display!
He said he's very impressed with Obama and Chris Christie (a republican) coming together in the wake of Sandy:
"What I wanted from the president was an ability to work closely with Republicans in Congress to be able to get things done. We saw the very best of President Obama, not only leading, but leading with a deep sense of humanity."
We wish other CEOs cared this much about stuff OTHER than making more money!
The world would be a better place!
