The New York Knicks were trying to be funny by putting up posters aimed at getting guys to watch games instead of going out on the weekends.
The posters, meant as a joke, ended up backfiring when people saw how sexist they were.
"It's Friday night, you can either go out and attempt to pick up sixes and sevens or stay home and watch Kidd dish out dimes."
The poster is referring to Jason Kidd, the Knicks' point guard, and to how men rank women on the "ten scale" of hotness.
It's not funny to objectify women and the ad caters specifically to men.
Women watch basketball too!
Though the Knicks are taking down the ads, it shouldn't really matter because they already served their purpose.
They may be controversial but they got people talking and that's all the Knicks want.
We just wish they had thought a little harder about what they were doing before they did it.
