There is a doctor, Dr. Russell Dohner, who has been practicing medicine in a small for well over 50 years now.
He's a typical small town doctor, a throw back to different times.
He makes rounds at a hospital, his office visits are first come first served, he makes house calls… oh and it's only $5 to see him.
He was originally going to study to be a cardiologist, but practiced medicine in his small hometown first… until the town's main doctor left!
Dohner, now 86, said:
"So I couldn't very well leave. That's just the way it worked out."
The only thing that has changed over the years is the price to see the doctor. It went from $2 to $5.
He doesn't even take insurance and all patient records are kept on index cards.
Maybe healthcare should be reformed back to these old standards!
Helping others just for the sake of helping others.
