Flu During Pregnancy Linked To Autism Risk!

A new study just found that women who had the flu or ran a fever for more than a week while pregnant had a higher risk of their child being diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.

The study was based off a massive survey of almost 97,000 mothers!

Now don't go into a panic or spend your whole pregnancy in a plastic bubble.

They found that mild and common respiratory, sinus, urinary tract or genital infections, and even episodes of fevers or using antibiotics didn't significantly affect the risk for autism.

But the mothers who did have the flu while pregnant were found to have twice the risk of having an autistic child!

Even though they found this in the study, they said it could be a "coincidental finding" and would require further study.

So if you're pregnant right now or would like to be in the near future, it might be worth your while to get a flu shot.

Also we'd recommend a little more than just a scarf and some gloves if you're pregnant and outside this winter! LOLz!
