If you hadn't noticed, we love Keira Knightly around here. Not only is she a fabtastic actress and a downright lovely person, she also stands up for what she believes in — and she believes that Hollywood's body obsessions are bullshizz!
Here's what she said about it during a press junket for her new movie Anna Karenina:
"I think the pressure we put on women to either be thinner or fatter or to have longer legs or shorter legs or bigger breasts or smaller breasts is disgusting. It's amazing in 2012 that that level of misogyny over women is still there… Particularly over young women. We pull them apart."
The press then asked her if she was a role model. Here's how she handled that:
"I'm a person. I'm completely flawed and nobody should look up to me as a role model. But, hopefully what I can do is make some interesting stories."
We'd say you're a pretty decent role model, Keira. Don't see yourself short!
Also, we completely agree with how terrible Hollywood is with handling the people that make them their money. It'd be awesome if everyone in Hollywood decided to gain 25 pounds for a while just to make a point!
Talent doesn't come from body size!!
