That's harsh! Kind of. LOLz
A cancer support group based in Madison recently changed their name because no one knows who the heck Gilda Radner is!!
The organization, which is dubbed Gilda's Club Madison, after the late Saturday Night Live comedian is getting erased because it may stop future members from joining the club.
Even though the comic died of ovarian cancer in 1989, executive director of the group, Lannia Syren Stenz acknowledged the situation and agrees with the name change, she said:
"One of the realizations we had this year is that our college students were born after Gilda Radner passed, as we are seeing younger and younger adults who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. We want to make sure that what we are is clear to them and that there's not a lot of confusion that would cause people not to come in our doors."
The foundation officially changed its alias to the Cancer Support Community Southwest Wisconsin this week, and also had a reopening bash!!
However, even though Radner's name will no longer be carried in the title, she will still have a HUGE presence at the club with paintings and drawings.
