The NFL just can't stop being rocked by violence and death lately.
For those of you who don't think drinking and driving is violence, well, you're wrong.
On Saturday morning around 2:20 a.m., Brent was speeding and drunk. He hit a curb, flipped his car, and Brown was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Brent was given a field sobriety test, failed, and was taken in.
Here's what the Cowboys said:
"We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry's family and all of those who knew and loved him."
Just an awful, awful thing.
We can't understand why ANYONE would drive under the influence. It sends people to jail, and ruins lives. Brown was even one of Brent's best friends — why would you ever do that to a good friend?
We hope the law doesn't go easy on him.
