Smoking is harmful to your health!
A new study has found that women whom were only "light" smokers doubled their chances of sudden death.
A light smoker is defined by the researchers as someone who smokes up to 1-14 cigarettes a day.
During the study there were 315 sudden cardiac deaths which is where the heart just stops working.
If the participant was under 35 and died it was most likely due to a heart condition that runs in the family, but for adults older than 35 it probably meant they passed away because of a coronary heart disease which smoking undoubtedly exasperates.
Here's what one head nurse said:
"If you're thinking of quitting and need a nudge, this research adds to the wealth of evidence that stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do for your heart health."
So if you're a young adult who smokes, know this, a recent study found that if a smoker gave up their gross habit by the age of 30 - that person would basically completely avoid any smoking related illnesses.
And if you're over 30 - it is never too late to quit, but you should stop NOW!!!
