Lance Armstrong filed a libel case against the British Sunday Times in 2004, and received a payout of $540,000 toward his legal fees regarding a post about drug use allegations.
But now, the newspaper is suing him for $1.6 million because that article and the revelations show that the case didn't even have a point.
A letter sent to Armstrong's lawyers stated:
"It is clear that the proceedings were baseless and fraudulent. Your representations that you had never taken performance enhancing drugs were deliberately false."
Lance apparently ran a HUMONGOUS doping scheme on his team, and was stripped of seven Tour de France titles and was prohibited from cycling FOR LIFE.
The paper now wants payment plus interest and believes that they are "likely to succeed."
