Researchers at Yale University have scanned brains and the results are alarming!
Scans of the human brain have shown that fructose, a monosaccharide found in everything from fruit to chicken nuggets, can trigger brain function that leads to overeating.
So even though you may be full - this ingredient will trick your brain into thinking you aren't hungry, yet!

“[Fructose] turns off or suppresses the activity of areas of the brain that are critical for reward and desire for food. We don’t see those changes. As a result, the desire to eat continues — it isn’t turned off. It implies that fructose, at least with regards to promoting food intake and weight gain, is a bad actor compared to glucose.”
One of the BIG problems with avoiding fructose is that it seems to be everywhere! You can't buy food and escape it!
Which is why researchers suggest that folks should buy and cook their food at home. That way, they at least know what they're eating.
Subsequently your brain will know when to stop!
