So, were you one of the people who were appalled to hear that The Biggest Loser would be having child contestants this coming season? Or were you one of the people who thought it was a positive thing?
Well, if you're in the first camp, we have some fantastic news for you on how they're going to handle child obesity on the show. Here's a hint: it's tasteful.
The show’s trainers said that no child would be subjected to an on-camera weigh-in, and younger set will not have to compete to stay on the show.
Here's what Bob Harper said:
“You are never going to see our kids on our scale. What we do will be the exact opposite of what we do with our adults.”
They WILL be weighed off screen as part of their weight loss program, though, but that makes sense.
We're actually excited about this, and we're totally glad they won't be exploiting these kids who have a lot of years of development and social interactions to go before they're adults. While being an adult and having the wisdom and experience to go with doing something like this, the kids won't — but getting them healthy should be the most important thing!
