Now that's how you rack in some dough!!
Oprah Winfrey just got Lance Armstrong to admit that he doped his way to wins, and because everyone and their mom is waiting to see the gossip for themselves, the host is selling ad slots at premium prices!!!
Miz Winfrey's network, OWN, is gonna play Oprah's Next Chapter's Armstrong feature in two episodes instead of one considering that it's 2 1/2 hours long.
And the president of OWN, Erik Logan has since disclosed:
"We are seeing a great demand in the marketplace. We are seeing the premiums."
Oprah's network has not been doing very well since it launched in 2011, and while the station has gained more viewers in the recent months, selling advert time for a lot more is pure genius.
The station is giving priority to the advertisers that bought slots for the first episode, but if they want some more time… it's gonna cost them a lot more.
Guess it's worth it — particularly because EVERYONE wants to see that the cycling champ was a liar.
