No matter how you feel about Lance Armstrong's lies and bullying, he did do some real good for cancer research.
It's undeniable — and while the man who created those Livestrong bracelets is a liar and a cheater, the reason for them is still pure: to kick cancer's ass.
So is the road to Lance's redemption paved by charity?
Here's what crisis expert Michael Bilello, President and CEO at Centurion Strategies, has to say about Lance's options:
“He doesn’t have a whole lot of options in terms of how he handles the scandal and whatever he does moving forward won’t rebuild that lost legacy.
“The only reason that people will forgive him after even all this is that even though he ‘cheated the game’ when you think of the things that went parallel with his career like the Livestrong Foundation, I would say that people would forgive and let him ride off into the sunset. If someone is doing right when they’re doing wrong then we tend to forgive them anyway. It’s the ones that continue to do wrong and have bad character that we vilify.
“He will go away and be fine, he has nothing else to say – his story has been written.”
Though, we do think the ends of cancer charity is more important than who is doing it. We need all the help we can get!
