New York is a big football city… so big that even though next year's Super Bowl is going to be in New Jersey, they're still gonna get in on the action!
NYC's mayor Michael Bloomberg and the NFL's Commissioner Roger Goodell got together to outline a plan for the 2014 game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
Mayor Bloomberg said:
"I think New York is already the nation's Super Bowl champion of tourism. And I think most people would agree with that."
Anyway, right now we're sure most of you East coasters are pretty chilly.
So people naturally worried about the fact that MetLife Stadium is an open-air stadium.
When asked about weather concerns, Bloomberg said:
"Let me just get this right. The weather — whatever it is — is going to be the same on both ends of the stadium, right? And in any case, they swap ends in case it isn't."
Ha! That's a good way to look at it!
Sounds like NY just might be the place to be around Super Bowl time next year!
