Everyone knows that A-Rod is notoriously hard to work with. He's extremely reckless, and the Yankees are fed up with his behavior, decision making and temperament.

That's why they hope that the allegations made in the Miami New Times that detail Rodriguez purchasing banned performance enhancers from 2009-12 to be true!! If it's true, or even worse than they think, the Yankees will be able to give him the boot. That means they'll distance themselves from his attitude and save about $114 million over the next 5 years. Sounds like a fab deal for them!

The problem is that it's notoriously hard to nab someone for performance enhancers. Just look at Ryan Braun, Barry Bonds, and Roger Clemens. Hell, look at Lance Armstrong!

Here's what will have to happen, according to the source:

'By the Collective Bargaining Agreement only the commissioner can punish a player for a violation of the sport’s drug provisions. So the Yankees will have to wait until the investigation concludes (months from now) and then see if there were a way to, for example, sue A-Rod for fraud claiming something like they entered into this contract without him telling the truth about his drug history or they sent him into an operating room with him providing false medical information.'

Seems like a LOT of work to us!

But, if you factor in that he's not really playing for a while because of his surgery, why not go after him while he can't hurt the game??

Sneaky, but hey — if he's got probz, it's a prob for the ball club!
