Super Bowl XLVII Draws 24.1 MILLION Tweets!

super bowl 24 million tweets beat last year

Last year's Super Bowl between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots drew 13.7 million tweets during the game.

This year's Super Bowl crushed that old number by almost double!

This year's Super Bowl saw the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 and this year's tweets beat last year's with 24.1 MILLION!

There were a few special moments that drew the most tweets per minute: the blackout drew 231,500 tweets per minute, the record 108-yard kick-off return for the Ravens caused 185,000 tweets per minute and Beyonce's half-time show pulled in 5.5 million tweets, peaking at 268,000 tweets per minute.

This Super Bowl even beat out the night of the U.S. presidential election, which drew only 23 million.

We guess that really just shows how spectacular of an event this past Sunday was!

With a great game and an even better half-time show, it's no wonder Super Bowl XLVII was the talk of the Twittersphere!
