Happy Valentine's Day Ladies! You're At A Higher Risk For STDs Than Anyone Else!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSexSTD

stds cost 16 billion a year to treat

Welp, no one said getting it on is always sweet as heart shaped candy!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 19.7 million sexually transmitted diseases are diagnosed every year in America, and the cost to cure all those NAS-TAY bugs cost a whopping $16 billion!

Damn. Planned Parenthood definitely keeps busy year around.

According to the report, 15 to 24 year olds are being held accountable for contracting the STDs, with the most common virus being human papillomavirus.

CDC epidemiologist, Catherine Satterwhite noted:

“We’ve seen a disproportionate burden for quite a while. Young women in particular are at greater risk.”

And on top of HPV being the everyday disease, herpes, trichomoniasis, hepatitis B, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia are also up on the list for viruses that are easily obtained during sex.

The good news is that most viruses are easily curable, but when it all comes down to it, getting a Valentine's Day thrill is NOT worth having a dirty disease in your body!

With that said, enjoy your day of love and happy HPV-day safe sexing! LOLz

No real discussion of Herpes 1 and Herpes 2? These are actually more common than HPV but most people don't know they are infected. I got both! ughhh… talk about happy valentines day 8-(. I wish I had heard of viradux sooner. Thank goodness they have come up with a treatment that actually works… outbreak free for 8 months now!
