Not to worry. You may be better off. Recent studies show that junk food, including baked goods, increases your risk of becoming depressed. A few signs of depression are:

· Hopelessness
· Irritability
· Constantly sad
· Feelings of guilt or worthlessness for no reason
· Insomnia
· Fatigue
· Sudden weight changes

A recent study also revealed that individuals who ate the most junk foods and commercially prepared baked products were more likely to be single and have other poor dietary and nutrition habits. They essentially ate less chicken, fish, fruits, nuts, veggies and olive oil.

There was also hard core evidence that eating commercially prepared baked foods like cakes, croissants donuts—-and fast foods such as hamburgers, hotdogs and pizzas were linked to depression. Researchers found that the more sugary junk, baked goods, fast foods and you consumed, the more likely you will become depressed.

To prevent depression linked to poor eating habits, eat healthier foods. Either eat less or pass on candy, junk food and baked goods. Considering the Mediterranean Diet—rich in plant foods such as beans, fruits, olives, nuts, vegetables, whole grains, and olive oil along with some cheese, eggs, yogurt, fish, poultry and wine is another good choice — because it has been associated with lowering the chances of you becoming depressed.
