Oscar Pistorius Is A Free Man! The South African Magistrate Has Granted Him Bail!! WTF?!?

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueR.I.P.Sad SadViolence

Oscar Pistorius is granted bail

We're really not sure how this was even possible, but what can we do?!?

Oscar Pistorius has been battling for his freedom for over a week after he allegedly murdered his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, but since his lawyer, Barry Roux obviously did a hell of a job in court, the South African Magistrate, Desmond Nair granted Blade Runner BAIL.

Nair said:

“I’ve come to a decision that … the accused has made a case to be released on bail."

After Pistorius' freedom was announced, mixed emotions in the courtroom were heard, but the runner's family was extremely happy.

However, even though Oscar knew all he had to do was pay his $112,000 bail, which he obviously has, it's been reported that he looked very upset.

Hmm… Shouldn't that have been a red flag?!?

The paralympian was then taken into a holding cell, where he waited to hear his bail conditions.

Nair is holding Pistorius responsible for paying up his bail, reporting to a police station twice a week, giving up his passports, staying away from witnesses, not drinking alcohol and to hand over his firearms.

We're realllllly losing our minds over this, but because of how South Africa's system works… this isn't surprising.

Thoughts?!?

interesting how you (a non south african, with little knowledge of south africa) want to pass judgement on "how South African systems work". Bail is fair…for anyone to be able to prepare for a case, they should be able do it as effectively as possible, as long as they pose no threat to the community.

Perez, look more into the case and you will see the reason as to why the bail is in fact fair.

And to just add, of course he would be upset. Actually he has been in emotional distraught and traumatized for about a week now! His girlfriend is gone, there's nothing to really rejoice about that. I think his response is actually what a normal human being would do. A cold-blooded murderer would smile.

As an ( Afrikaans South African) I do think the bail was fair. I feel Happy that Oscar is out on bail, everyone has they're opinion, mine is yes he did kill Reeva, but I onestly believe that he didn't do it on purpose, As an South African I know how extremely proud we are, and you can see in Oscars face that he feels really bad about what he has done… Maby we should all just give him and Reevas family just some space, and time to mourn for her, and to try and get to terms of what happened…..

South African or not, if my husband thought that there was an intruder in our home, the FIRST THING he would do is check to make sure that I'm okay. Especially since according to court testimony, Pistorius would have had to have passed by Reeva THREE times in the bed, where he claimed that's where she thought she was. His tears are coming from fear of going to prison and losing his fortune. He definitely pre-meditated her murder.

I'm very offended at your statement about our system, you haven't even been to my country so don't judge us.I agree that oscar shouldn't have gotten bail,if you shoot 4shots you intend to kill.and he passed by where reeva was supposed to be sleeping 3times prior to shooting and he didn't no she wasn't there!!??its a lie his story has many holes but wen his case starts again in june the truth will come out.he deserves to be in jail accident or not,he killed someone.his career and life are over either way.perez u need to follow the case alil more tho b4 u start passing statements like that about south africa

Stick to commenting on your fake society - or do some proper research. Bail is fair. The trial is still to come. Innocent until proven guilty.

The bail hearing has not about whether he is guilty or innocent. Like most western democracies, the South African system presumes innocence until proven guilty. Until the trial, he is presumed innocent. A civilized judicial system does not hold someone indefinitely while the state prepares its case unless there are compelling reasons to do so - like flight risk, interference with witnesses, etc. And as a jurisdiction with a civilized system of justice, the South African system (unlike many states in the U.S) does not put people to death as punishment.

Seriously?! How can yoy make a comment about the south african system which you probably no very little about. If you actually take the time to do proper research like most of the international journalists following the case you wouldn't write such things. The magistrate went into great detail as to why he was granted Bail. I'm not saying I'm pro- Oscar because at the end of the day he did take a life but the decision to grant him bail was not just sucked out of the magistrate's thumb they way Perez writes most of his stories.

He hears an intruder in the bathroom and blows off excessive rounds. I GUESS hes a perfect shot and he got her with the first bullet because this lady didnt scream? And what intruder would go into a bathroom or come thru a window? Hmmmm. Seems the intruder was hardup for toilet paper or this guy a premeditated murder! Hes on bail already? Does people lives mean so little these days?

    A few things about this
*if you dont know anything about south african law buzz off
*if you did not see the murder take place how do you know what happened
*why can serial rapist walks out of jail no one has anything to say but when oscar makes a mistake and kills his girlfriend and gets bail everyone goes on and on ?
Keep in mind innocent until proven guilty and if he intended to murder her and he walks then he will have to live with it
