We hope nobody takes the headline (above) as a bad thing, because when it comes to diets and life changes, being realistic is the BEST thing you can do! Having false hopes in either direction (about what you can and can't do) isn't going to help anything!
That's why we're happy to hear that Carnie Wilson, who lost 40 pounds after her January 2012 lap-band surgery, is now coming to peace with her figure and how her body has handled weight loss and will continue to handle the journey!
Here's what she said:
"I'm not striving for perfection. This has to be for the rest of my life. So with two kids, a hectic schedule and being a working mom, I fluctuate and that's ok. I'm not beating myself up for it. Every year I'm making more progress now – and that's my goal."
Yay!! What a realistic and HEALTHY way to look at her situation! That's TRUE progress!
She continues about her work out regimen and the goals she has for that, and her kids:
"I want that muscle percentage to go up. It's only three days a week, but that's good. I feel like that's a great message to send out. I tell my daughters, 'You have to love yourself.' If I ever hear them put themselves down I tell them, 'Don’t say that. You have to say positive things about yourself because you are what you think you are.'
"For me, I know I don't weigh 120 lbs., but I’m also not 500 lbs. I am who I am and I celebrate where I am when I'm there."
This makes us so happy!
And you are WELL on your way, Wilson! We're so glad you're proud of what you've done!!
Congrats and we wish you continued luck!!
