The Chinese Super League just lost superstars Dideier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, as well as 58 Chinese officials, so while they were left in the dust — they contacted David Beckham in hopes that he would save the day!!
Not only did the Paris Saint-Germain athlete work his magic to make things better, but he became their Global Ambassador and will now do everything he can to improve the image of soccer in the country.
Excited about his new title, Beckham said:
"I am honored to have been asked to play such an important role at this special time in Chinese football history. I'm excited by the prospect of promoting the world's greatest game to Chinese sports fans as I've seen firsthand the growing interest in football there. This is a wonderful sport that inspires people across the world and brings families together, so I'm relishing the opportunity of introducing more fans to the game."
David is set to attend matches, visit clubs and get together with children to help boost the game, which we're quite sure he's gonna do one heck of a job!!
Congrats on your new gig, you hunky man!
