OMG! We hope everything is alright!!
Ed Asner was performing at the one-man show, FDR at the Marquette-Pavilion on Tuesday, but after he fumbled over his words, he was russsshed to a Gary, Ind. Hospital.
The show was reported to have began 45 minutes late and once the 83-year-old actor started spilling his lines, he ran into some speech problems and was immediately taken off-stage.
George Van Til noted that The Mary Tyler Moore actor seemed upset and disorientated, but he did try to work up enough words to apologize to the audience.
Asner is currently in the hospital being treated for exhaustion, but no further deets have been released.
However, his publicist, Charles Sherman said he's "resting comfortably," which is making us feel a lot better!!
Get well soon, Ed!
After spending some time in the hospital, the actor's son, Matt revealed that his pops is A-OK, he said:
"My dad is doing fine. He was rushed to the hospital yesterday for being disoriented on stage. He is resting now at an Indiana hospital and is doing well and very grumpy, which with him is always a good thing. He is being assessed right now and what I can say is that it was not a stroke. That much we do know. He was feeling under the weather for a few weeks so he may just need some rest but for now he is just fine."
That's soo good to hear!!
Now all Asner has to do is get lots of rest because we wouldn't want him beating himself up for stumbling on his words!!
