Cancer f**king sucks, you guys.
We're super saddened to hear that Sam Simon, one of three people who created The Simpsons, is fighting colon cancer. At 57, he's way too young to be going through this.
As a writer and producer on the show, he was told by doctors that he has colon cancer last year, and that it has spread. It's now attacking other vital organs, and the battle has gotten tougher. Here's how he explains it:
"The diagnosis was - I was feeling bad for a couple (of) years, and I was diagnosing myself from television talk shows, so I was taking antidepressants and I was trying to get my testosterone levels up… but then it turned out my primary cancer was colon cancer that had spread to my liver, kidneys, abdominal connective tissues and my lymph system and maybe my brain. They're not sure about that."
He went on to talk about how much the positive support means to him and his battle:
"I was overwhelmed by all your kind tweets… I have great docs (sic), traditional and alternative, and I plan on beating this. Thanks, again!"
Ugh, this is just so awful! All we can do is hope that he's in the best hands, and that he can kick this thing's ass!
Good luck, Sam! You can do it!
