After six long months of trials, the pimp, Mark Strong Sr. in the Zumba prostitution scandal is finally going to serve his well-deserved sentence.
Earlier today, the Superior Court Justice Nancy Mills gave Strong 20 days in jail, which will start immediately, and also fined him $3,000 for pimping out his business partner and prostitute, Alexis Wright.
Before Mark was sentenced, he told the court that he has been selfish and he's the only one that knows the remorse he has, he added:
“During all this time, I’ve asked, ‘Why is this happening to me’ and ‘Why am I living through this hell,’ when I should have been taking responsibility for what I’d done and how much harm I’ve caused. I let myself justify what I had done. I will no longer justify my actions, and I will take all responsibility for what I’ve done.”
It's inneresting to hear that Strong only got 20 days — especially because police and prosecutors wanted him to be behind bars for 364 days with a concurrent 180-day sentence, followed by two suspended 36-day sentences. And on top of that, prosecutors also wanted him to pay a $24,000 penalty.
Mark's defense attorneys only sought 14 days in jail with a $2,000 fine, and after careful consideration, the judge obviously favored the pimp's defense team.
We don't know about you, but we think Strong got off really easy, but what can we do?!?
Pimps usually know how to talk their way out of anything!!
