Well, this is incredibly sad news.
Joe Weider, the fitness icon largely responsible for discovering and mentoring Arnold Schwarzenegger during his years as a teen bodybuilder, passed away from heart failure yesterday afternoon.
He was 93 years old.
In a statement, the actor and former Governator said of the man behind Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Shape and Men's Fitness:
"Joe didn’t just inspire my earliest dreams; he made them come true the day he invited me to move to America to pursue my bodybuilding career. I will never forget his generosity."
Wow. It's just incredible how just one man's kindness can make all the difference in another person's life.
And we have a feeling that Arnold wasn't the only person whose life Joe changed for the better.
We sincerely hope that he can R.I.P., and that his wife, friends, family and loved ones push through this difficult time.
