In December, Nelson Mandela was hospitalized for his ongoing lung infection and gallstones, and now, he's unfortunately back in the hospital.
Mandela was admitted last night, and is currently under the care of doctors on a "continuous basis."
The former South Africa president's spokesman Mac Maharaj opened up about Nelson's state, he said:
"I think we need to be clear that the doctors are attending to Madiba. They prefer to act on the side of caution, and the moment they felt there was a recurrence of the lung infection, they felt that it warranted immediate hospitalization given his age and given his history."
No word on which hospital Mandela is staying at has been heard, but President Zuma is asking the people of South Africa not to worry, he noted:
"We appeal to the people of South Africa and the world to pray for our beloved Madiba and his family and to keep them in their thoughts. We have full confidence in the medical team and know that they will do everything possible to ensure recovery."
The 94-year-old's lungs were apparently damaged when he worked in a prison quarry, and even though this hospitalization is raising concerns, we're hoping that everything is ok.
After all, if he made it through his last hospitalization then he should make it through this one too!!
Hang in there, Nelson.
