At Least One Chik-fil-A Is Trying To Make Progress!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayFoodFast FoodLGBT

chik fil a rancho cucamonga lgbt gay rights same sex couples support free meals

The Chik-fil-A in Rancho Cucamonga is fed up with whatever the rest of the chain locations are saying about "biblical families" and not liking same-sex couples. They're so fed up that Corey Braun, the owner of that location, showed up at a pro-same-sex rally just to give out coupons for free meals, and to talk to the crowd about how he doesn't care about what the other locations do or say!

Honestly, it was pretty touching!

The problem is, some of that money going into his location filters back to the parent company, which is filled with anti-lgbt nonsense. But still, nothing gets back to them if the same-sex supporters are getting free food, right?!

Here's what Braun said:

"There were a lot of things said over the past year. I wanted to show that Chick-fil-A doesn't discriminate against anybody. We serve everyone. We're happy to serve the community and this was an opportunity to have this group come in and show them our hospitality regardless of their beliefs, sexual orientation, or whatever. "

We LOVE this statement, and we suppose the the company as a whole could be against what COO Dan Cathy said when he voiced his opposition to same-sex marriage. But how can we trust that the higher-ups there aren't big bigots like Dan?? Braun continued:

"Chick-fil-A has never been about hate. I think things were taken out of context. The COO Dan Cathy was asked about his opinion on marriage and he just supports a biblical view of marriage."

Seems like an excuse to us. Why would a company that's never been about hate let a hate-filled man be their COO?

Still, like we said: the food is free, so why not? Just remain skeptical while eating those fries and make sure not to buy anything by accident! LOLz!

I work at a Chick fil A in Wilmington, Delaware. My operator as well as my coworkers love gays and have nothing against them. This is all bullshit, as if other restaurants don't support different foundations and organizations?

In regards to Dan Cathy I think you should read this.

I don't think they need your 'plz come back' after posting record earnings and a 12% jump in profits in 2012. The celebs and companies that come out in support of gays are only doing it based on market research, not because they believe it is the right thing or a moral decision. They have marketers and consultants gathering data and the prime 18-24 demo is in favor it. Therefore, they do the same. Starbucks, Amazon, etc… all phonies, just doing it for customer retention, not for gays

    Re: tastles
Agree. It's like how many Americans actually believe Obama is for gay or did he just have his team do the research and see what would grab the young voters and celebs? The whole Biden/Obama thing was totally set up to get voters. This whole issue is turning into a circus

This is supposed to be about tolerance. We tolerate what people believe. We don't have to agree with it. I don't give a rat's ass who sleeps with whom. Keep it in your bedroom.

Re: shaygirl1309 – hahahaha. Are you 13 years old? Do you know anything about life or do you base all of your misguided judgments on what you've over-heard your parents shouting at the television? If you are not a tween troll, then you are a full blown idiot.

Re: Matthew – Hey Mathew, I know nothing about shaygirl, but I am 60 years old and lost my job of 22 years with the same employer (company got bought out by a larger company) to offshoring. So I think I know what the hell I am talking about, especially since I had to train my replacement or face loss of reference and package. So unless you have been through this, or know someone who has, I do not think your comments are valid. And yes I was a loyal, hardworking employee who won numerous awards and cash, as well as being sent to our Club one year after only working two years with the company.

The kid they replaced me with is a contractor, and they and his direct employer pay him NO benefits. He is young now, but what happens when he starts a family and has to pay medical bills and all that stuff?

As outraged as many people are about his opinions on same-sex marriage, it would be just as discriminatory and wrong to fire him from doing his job, because of his personal beliefs. As long as he isn't hurting people, breaking the law, or doing a bad job, his beliefs shouldn't have any bearing on his ability to perform his duties.

I understand how sensitive the subject is for people and how easy it is to get upset by a dissenting opinion, but if you expect tolerance and acceptance from others, you must be tolerant and accepting yourself.
